Redox-Hg boosts the mercury removal capabilities of wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD) scrubber systems by using a suspension of highly amorphous iron sulfide particles. Through a combination of adsorption, chemical reduction, precipitation and conversion to stable sulfide and iron-sulfide precipitates, Redox-Hg effectively removes both oxidized and elemental mercury from liquid and gas streams.

Plant data showing real-time quick response of Redox-Hg chemical injection.
  • Lowers total stack mercury by over 95%
  • Fast-acting response during start-up, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) excursions
  • Works within existing scrubber conditions with a small footprint
  • Reduces concentrations of arsenic and selenium in water
  • Eliminates the potential of leachable heavy metals in solids
  • Non-toxic, easy-to-handle, low odor
  • Does not affect quality of fly ash or gypsum
  • Effective over a wide range of ORP (-200 to +700mV) and pH 4.5-7

Redox-Hg significantly boosts the mercury removal efficiency of wet flue gas desulfurization systems and is a cost-effective alternative to wet scrubber additives.
