Fuel Tech’s Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG) is engineered to provide optimal ammonia distribution and to maximize NOx reduction in the reactor. Precise ammonia delivery is a key element in enhancing the performance of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. Fuel Tech offer custom-engineered AIGs that can accommodate both anhydrous and aqueous ammonia (NH₃), with configurations ranging from a single injection point to hundreds of independent, controllable injection points.

Benefits and Features
- No horizontal vanes, which often cause ash fallout and catalyst pluggage issues
- Provides optimum delivery of ammonia (NH3) for SCR applications
- Post-installation tuning and optimization
- Experienced field personnel and training capabilities
AIG designs are customized to maximize results
Fuel Tech can design, build and deliver AIGs based on customers’ specific requirements. Our service starts by gathering key information, including the ammonia delivery rate specified by the catalyst vendor, along with customer objectives and constraints. We then follow a structured process to design the most cost effective and efficient delivery system possible. The design is then tested and optimized through a combination of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and physical fluid dynamics scale modeling.
